Incident in the TQ – 21/12/2007

Posted in Tylium Queen at 11:25 am by Ronon Maximus

Below, I’ll be reporting the events that occurred aboard the Tylium Queen on the night of November 21.

Although i’m currently assigned to New Aerelon, last Friday i decided to make a quick visit to the TQ, concerned about the constant Cylon attacks and this new threat, the so-called “Liberation Army”.

Upon arrival, i recognized from my surveillance over the past months, 3 Syndicate operatives, arguing with some of the TQ residents. Approaching undetected, i was able to hear that they were in fact, using the recent attacks by the Cylons and the fear of this new terrorist group, to demand protection money from these people.

Noticing the increasing violent tone of their forced requests and fearing over the residents safety, i decided to confront the 3 suspects. Faced with my presence, two of them tried to escape, while the third one pulled a gun and started to shoot.

In response to this use of lethal force and in self-defense, i replied by firing back, being able to neutralize him in the TQ corridor. I believe he was trying to reach the Oracle’s room, maybe looking for her or Siri, to use as an hostage.

Continuing my search, i realized one of the subjects was hiding in the room where explosives were found. Knowing that this is also a secret stash for some Syndicate guns, i proceed with caution but was greeted with threats and gunfire. Once again and complying with the general rules of engagement, i replied with the same force, hitting my target. Approaching the subject, i realized he had only a few minutes left, due to the injuries he sustained. I tried to get a name of one of the Syndicate leaders but all he was able to whisper, was a threat about how me and my wife are now targets for the organization.

Searching for the third subject, i found myself on the landing bay, realizing that he had probably escaped in one of the shuttles. That was when i was attacked from behind, by someone that was hiding among the crates on that location. The suspect had no weapon, engaging me only on a physical confrontation but obviously trying to reach for my gun. During the fight and already on the ground, while i was disputing the gun with him, the weapon fired, hitting him in the stomach, which lead to his death.

Upon searching the bodies for possible clues about the Syndicate and gathering all the data i could, i questioned the residents about the situation that made me act and received confirmation that the Syndicate is now using many types of extortion, to obtain money or favors from people around the fleet. I would like to request that if anyone around the fleet is suffering such pressures, please contact me.

To close my report, i would like to state that i condemn the use of such violence but according to my new policy of active investigation and realizing that since the raids and my statement, the Syndicate members are now armed and using lethal force more often, i had no choice but to reply in the same way.

Ronon Maximus, Security Chief of the Tylium Queen.

            Observers:    Captain Tanya Halberd
                                    Captain Starbuckk Serapis
                                    Kiltcheck Douglas – Press

Executive Summary:

In recognizing the lack of activity on the part of the fleet’s criminal investigations unit, it was determined that the security of the fleet remained in danger in the wake of the destruction of the hydroponics farm aboard the 7th Heaven.

The investigations team was able to determine that the explosive compound G4 was used during the attack on the 7th Heaven, but no known leads were ever developed or pursued.

Reports were received stating that during the recent blockade of the Tylium Queen, military personnel were threatened that any attempt to board the vessel would be met with a response of detonating G4 explosives within the hangar bay.

In response to the perception of a continued threat, the special response team OPSEC Antares of the Fleet Security Force was tasked with the responsibility of conducting a cordon and search of the Tylium Queen.  Location of any bomb-making caches was made a first priority.

Operation Narrative:

The following is a full recount of events transpiring on the evening of Operation Broken Paroxysm.

The operations element and observing personnel met aboard the 7th Heaven and proceeded to the shuttle landing bay.  From there, Captain Halberd piloted a shuttle containing the entire response team toward the Tylium Queen.  Shortly after the shuttle was successfully docked and all personnel had disembarked, Security Chief Ronon Maximus proceeded to the landing area to question the arrival of the response team.  It quickly became apparent that Security Chief Maximus was unaware of the team’s intention to conduct a cordon and search of the vessel.  A brief deliberation between Captain Halberd and Security Chief Maximus ensued, after which the response team was allowed uninhibited access to the ship.

After proceeding inside the aft-most chamber of the Tylium Queen, the response team came into contact with multiple civilians in the recreational area.  An obvious tension arose amongst several civilian personnel.  Prior to conducting the cordon and search, operational prudence dictated that efforts must be made to assuage the concerns of the civilian personnel located on the scene.  Captain Halberd and Team Leader Syakumi approached the civilian personnel, and assurances were made that the presence of the Fleet Security Team was meant to cause as little disruption to them as possible.  It was explained that there was absolutely no intention to violate civil liberties by searching private civilian domiciles, and cooperation was requested in allowing the security team to begin conducting their search of the recreation area.

During the conversation, one civilian became panicked as a result of another civilian’s insistance that everyone should immediately flee to their personal quarters and barricade their doors.  Once again, the civilian offering these suggestions was told that the response team would not be conducting searches of private quarters and was asked to calm herself so as not to cause unnecessary grief, alarm, or panic.  The civilian instigator refused to cooperate and continued to insist that everyone present seal their doors, and tension among the civilian personnel began to escalate.  At this point, mission elapsed time had already proceeded well beyond the target goal and the cordon and search had not been started.

Team Leader Syakumi made the decision that if the civilian instigator was not to be reasoned with that the operation should commence as swiftly as possible.  The response team was ordered to fan out and begin searching all locations within the public domain of the vessel.  The location of illegal food caches was to be reported, but the priority concern was the assurance that no bomb-making equipment or weapons caches were present aboard the Tylium Queen.  The recreations area was searched and determined to be clean.  The primary corridor running the length of the vessel was also searched and determined to be clean.  After isolating the central pod which was known to contain the “turret chamber” and the illicit den that had been located during prior operations, security personnel proceeded inside these two public areas.

During the search of the “turret chamber,” several drums marked for flammable contents were located and investigated by Team Leader Syakumi.  The first two drums yielded no result, but the third produced a suspicious echo and bore subtle signs of tampering.  At 20:33:00, the barrel was overturned and found to have been hollowed out underneath.  A secret compartment had been intentionally installed within the bottom of the barrel, and several large plastic bags were found to be contained inside.  Each container was carefully packed and restrained at the top of the located compartment, thus adding to the suspicion that this was a deliberate attempt to conceal the location of what was inside.

Team Leader Syakumi proceeded to cautiously inspect and remove the equipment located within the barrel, which was determined not to have been armed.  The equipment was removed from the container and photographed.  The cache yielded twenty-seven pounds of G4 explosives in two separate bags.  One of the sealed bags had been punctured, and an undetermined amount of explosives had obviously been removed.  Along with the cache of explosives, six detonators with remote detonation capability were located and seized.  The size of the cache was estimated to have been roughly fifteen times the size of the charges that were utilized to destroy the hydroponics farm aboard the 7th Heaven — enough to completely destroy most any vessel in the fleet if utilized by an individual familiar with the demolition of spacefaring craft.

Upon locating the cache of explosives, the response team immediately secured them and extracted themselves from the area of operation.  The mission concluded at 20:50:00 with the team’s departure from the Tylium Queen.  The shuttle transport arrived at the River Delta at 20:54:00, at which time debriefing of the response team commenced.

Analysis of Mission Outcomes:

1.)  The CIC aboard the Pacifica was not provided with adequate information pertaining to the operation underway.  Communications failures with the CIC resulted in the dispatching of a small contingent of Marines to ensure that later reports that were received were not indicative of an attempt at insurrection aboard the Tylium Queen.  This matter will be rectified by direct channels of correspondence being opened and conducted between Operative Syakumi and the Pacifica CIC prior to the commencement of all future operations.

2.)  Security Chief Ronon Maximus was not aware of the team’s intention to conduct an operation aboard the vessel that he was responsible for.  It has since the time of this operation been disputed that information was passed down to the proper channels and that the breakdown of communication may not be the responsibility of the Fleet Security Force nor the Captains who authorized the operation.  Security Chief Maximus was assured during the operation that regardless of the cause of this communications breakdown that future endeavors would be made for direct channels of communication to be opened between Operative Syakumi and himself prior to the commencement of any future operation aboard the Tylium Queen.

3.)  It has been reported in various media channels that there has been an insinuation of guilt or of culpability on the part of certain personnel indigenous to the Tylium Queen by the Fleet Security Force.  This rumor is unfounded in either evidence or legal technicality.  It should be clarified for the public record that the Fleet Security Force exists solely for the security of the civilian fleet.  The Fleet Security Force is not a judicial nor investigative body, and has no legal authority nor prerogative to make accusations of guilt nor to raise charges against civilian or military personnel.  The Fleet Security Force is an enforcement team, and will never be involved in such affairs at any time.

4.)  It has been reported in various media channels that the weapons cache located aboard the Tylium Queen was a component of normal mining operations.  While it is not within the auspices of this team to make speculations, it is our prerogative to defend our position and provide justification for the reason why certain actions were taken.  The weapons cache that was located aboard the Tylium Queen possessed all of the necessary equipment to create and detonate a bomb within seconds.  In the conduction of normal mining or military action, these equipment components are kept separate in the interest of security.  The weapons cache that was located aboard the Tylium Queen was deliberately hidden, and great efforts were made to conceal its location utilizing tactics typically employed by an insurgent element to resist the efforts of a cordon and search.  It was not stumbled upon in the open, nor was it haphazardly concealed — the intent to hide was deliberate, sophisticated, and apparent.  It is the opinion of the Fleet Security Force that these explosives were hidden with specific, criminal intentions in mind.  It should be noted as a matter of public record that this opinion on the part of the Fleet Security Force is not an insinuation of the criminal misconduct of any individual nor formal or informal body.  No allegations as to who was responsible have been made, nor will they be made by the Fleet Security Force (see point 3, above).  Any charges or allegations of guilt that result from the seizure of the weapons cache will be made by the investigations unit under the employ of President Vargas or by a judicial body.
All of the evidence collected during this operation, including photographs and audio logs are currently in the custody of Operative Syakumi and may be subpoenaed for investigation or legal review upon receipt of official request.

This report was compiled by Operative Syakumi following the events described.

Executive Summary:

It was brought to the attention of security forces that rations of food and essential supplies that had been authorized by Commander Nephilim and distributed by Colonial Fleet Personnel had been intercepted by low-level racketeers and smugglers aboard the fleet mining vessel Tylium Queen.

Reports were received stating that civilian personnel aboard the Tylium Queen were in danger of starvation and dehydration due to lack of nourishment.  The distribution of foodstuffs to children and those deemed unuseful to criminal elements was evidently not a priority of black market thugs.

In response to the request for aid, the newly formed special response team OPSEC Antares of the Fleet Security Force was tasked with the responsibility of conducting a cordon and search of the Tylium Queen from top to bottom.  Location of the hoarded supplies was made a first priority.

Operation Narrative:

The following is a full recount of events transpiring on the evening of Operation Sundered Cornucopia.

The operations element and observing personnel met aboard the 7th Heaven and proceeded to the shuttle landing bay.  From there, Captain Vendetta piloted a shuttle containing the entire response team toward the Tylium Queen.  As we drew closer to the vessel, the Captain pulled close enough that we were able to view a deployment chute through which a newly-installed point defense turret could be lowered.  It was explained by the Captain at 19:32:00 that the Syndicate had been responsible for installing the device, though there is no known evidence to support or deny this claim.

Immediately after docking, the team was divided into its principle and secondary elements in order to secure the area to be searched.  It was at this time that a resident of the vessel known as Lauri Mayfair was encountered.  She was instrumental in providing background information regarding the “plight” of the insurgent Syndicate and offered insight into some of the recent battle damage that the Tylium Queen had suffered in the wake of Cylon engagements.  Ms. Mayfair offered to accompany the team, and Captain Vendetta began leading the way through the ship.

The first section of the vessel that was searched produced no results.  No crew were encountered on account of ongoing mining operations.  Personal privacy was respected to every extent possible, but systematic sweeps were conducted of all open and accessible quarters that may have been utilized as illegal stowage places for racketeering.  The team proceeded further toward the bridge of the vessel and came upon two chambers, one of which contained ordnance and the retracted point defense turret and another which contained what is best described as a bondage sex den.  At 20:04:00, Ms. Mayfair explained that the turret previously attributed to Syndicate acquisition had been traded for and repaired by crew aboard the Tylium Queen, though there is no known evidence to support or deny this contrary claim.

Operative Isidis and Operative Mastroianni began searching the chambers.  During this time, Operative Syakumi inquired as to any possible location of smuggled foods, but was met with little cooperation or interest.  As the search of both chambers continued, a woman in the corridor below approached Officer Trajax.  She was distressed over the missing food that had not been properly distributed aboard the vessel, and complained that with the little food she was able to acquire that feeding her young child was exceedingly difficult.  Operative Syakumi descended the ladderway and interviewed the woman, who was identified as Eyea Aya.  Ms. Aya was instrumental in providing further information about the severity of the food shortage aboard the Tylium Queen — a condition that had previously been denied by most who were questioned.

At 20:57:00, Operative Isidis opened a crate of missiles and ordnance which was found to contain a significant quantity of food rations and a small cache of illegal narcotics.  The find was documented photographically and moved to Captain Vendetta’s quarters, where it was placed under lock.  At this time Captain Vendetta offered to allow the team access to her personal quarters and storage chamber, both of which were checked before moving across the hall to the final chamber to be searched.  While opening the door, Captain Vendetta explained that the final chamber was leased by President Vargas.

The team proceeded inside and began to check the lockers contained within the room.  A personal computer was located beside the door and left untouched due to the possibility of sensitive data being stored there.  At 21:26:00, a locker near the entrance of the quarters was opened by Captain Vendetta and found to contain several stacks of food rations.  The cache was photographed by Ms. Bruder as well as security personnel before being removed from the locker and brought to Captain Vendetta’s quarters for safekeeping.

The mission concluded at 21:42:00 with the team’s departure from the Tylium Queen.  The shuttle transport returned to the 7th Heaven at 21:44:00, at which time debriefing commenced and Ms. Bruder was released to conduct her report.

All of the evidence collected during this operation, including photographs and audio logs are currently in the custody of Operative Syakumi and may be subpoenaed for investigation or legal review upon receipt of official request.

Military officer lost control in clinic

Posted in 7th Heaven at 6:07 pm by Starbuckk Serapis

Joint report by Doctor Innis and Captain Serapis
=====================================

Doctor Innis
————

I was called from my apartment to attend a drunk passing out down in after burners. There Dr Dagger and I found Sovereign Republic face down on the dance floor. He had recently been wounded and DR dagger had given him some morphine pills

During rounds I had observed him playing strip poker on the TQ. He had flown his Viper to the TQ and blocked my craft in. He had also been seen dancing wildly at afterburners

He was taken to the clinic were we counter acted the morphine by using 2cc of hydroxytryptamine combined with charcoal in the stomach. I also had to intabate due to the depressed breathing.

He soon revived still drunk, he got out of bed asking time and for water I obliged him seeing that he was not in a state of clear mind. I several times asked him to return to bed, he became agitated, I gave him clear warning that if he did not comply I would use a sedative. He did not so I went into administer and he knocked me over and ran from the clinic I called security and we proceed to chase him allover the seventh heaven. During the chase I was called away to attend to personal business so was not present at his capture. at the time of this report he is restraned here in the clinic awaitin tansfer to the milltary ship.

DR Shaheen Innis MD BA MA SUR Nurology

ADDENDUM BY CAPTAIN SERAPIS
====================

After hearing a radio call of a security problem on 7th Heaven I took off from C1 and proceeded to 7th Heaven. Upon approach I received an emergency call to stop the main shuttle and not allow any approaches to the landing bay. I came within visual range and observed Ensign Republic standing near the edge of the containment area with what I believe were two marines and a pilot on the deck with weapons drawn.

I sent the wireless command to shut down the scheduled shuttle, holding it outside the landing bay and hovered near the entrance while the sitiation was being resolved. I was not able to determine how it was resovled but it appears that Ensign Sufec Dagger, Doctor Cornell Dagger and possibly the two marines present were able to take Ensign Republic into custody and return him to the civilian clinic.

The on scene senior military officer, Lieutenent Bachman indicated that there were no medical staff or raptors on duty to provide transport to Pacifica. Ensign Republic appears to be a security risk and needs to be transferred to Pacifica under military custody as soon as practicable

Incident in the TQ – 13th November

Posted in Tylium Queen at 7:24 am by Ronon Maximus

Below, I’ll be reporting the events that occurred aboard the Tylium Queen on the night of November 13. It will be a small account, since most of the details are not confirmed, due to the condition of the people implicated in the occurrence:

I was doing my usual patrol around the ship, when i heard reports on the wireless that a man was apparently injured on our landing bay. Immediately inspecting that area, i recognized Dr. Dagger, unconscious on the floor. Dr. Leandrah Whiteberry that was with me at the time, attended him and confirmed his precarious health condition, starting emergency procedures.

Since i couldn’t help her, i decided to check the rest of the ship, looking for possible threats. It was then that i noticed a small figure escaping into one of the air vents of our main corridor, identifying it as a female child. A few minutes later, Dr. Shaheen and Nurse Missy, arrived with Dr.Nimitz on a Raptor and assisted on Dr.Dagger’s situation.

After Dr.Shaheen assumed control of the situation, i asked the other doctors to help me on the search of the child. After a few minutes of inspection, she was found in one of the rooms, very scared of our presence. Dr.Leandrah was the first to approach her, examining for any sign of injuries but she seemed to establish some kind of connection with Dr.Nimitz, which helped the procedure. The close exam allowed them to detect a wound with metal shrapnel, which was taken care of, a tag with her name – “Momo” – and a picture of what we assume, to be her parents.

We were then alerted over the wireless, that Dr. Dagger situation was deteriorating and he needed to be transported as soon as possible to the clinic on 7th Heaven. All those involved were then taken by Raptor to 7th Heaven.

I was then informed that Dr.Dagger is in a coma and i received no more information about Momo. Despite having no concrete evidence, i believe that the two situations are not related. It is my opinion that the child has been living in the TQ for quite some time now, stealing food and moving through the air vents. The food shortage we’re having, associated with the busy times we had in the last days, probably made her more daring, so that she tried to steal supplies during daylight. The metal shrapnel was probably from the explosion that happened last night, since she moved though the metal air vents.

Ronon Maximus, Security Chief of the Tylium Queen.

Incident in the TQ – 12th November

Posted in Tylium Queen at 8:51 am by Ronon Maximus

Below, I’ll be reporting the events that occurred aboard the Tylium Queen on the night of November 12. I was not present in the ship, so this report will be based mainly on the accounts of civilian Ms. Lauri Mayfair, Security Officer Sovereign Republic and pilot Suffec Dagger.

Last night, when I was waiting for the shuttle to return to the TQ, I heard reports over the wireless of a Raider landing on its shuttle bay. A few minutes later, the general alarm of the Mining Ship was activated, followed a few seconds after, by a request from Suffec Dagger for a medical team, as there was a report of a civilian injured.

On my arrival on the ship, I immediately noticed the black smoke coming from the cargo hold but I continued to the bridge, following the voices I was hearing. I encountered Security Officer, Sovereign Republic and pilot Suffec Dagger, who asked me if I saw any Cylons on my way in. On the ground was Ms. Lauri Mayfair, visibly injured. I was made aware that an explosion had occured, but all the rooms had been checked and no threat was present.

Regaining consciousness, Ms.Mayfair informed us that there was an explosion in the cargo hold where our ship’s tylium stockpile is kept, and that she managed to crawl through the flames and smoke, activating the alarm. I asked Dagger and Sovereign to check that area, while I took Ms. Mayfair to the arriving ambulance shuttle, where she was taken care of by Dr. Andi Whiteberry, nurse Missy and Captain Starbuckk Serapis.

I then met with Dagger and Sovereign for damage assessment and, although there was no hull damage, the tylium reserves of our ship were lost, which leads to my conclusion that the Cylon invader that was reported aboard had a specific mission that it was able to complete.

To conclude this report, I would like to express my gratitude to Sovereign Republic and Suffec Dagger for taking immediate action aboard the Tylium Queen and distinguish Ms. Lauri Mayfair for her bravery and personal sacrifice, by alerting the fleet in spite of her injuries.

Ronon Maximus, Security Chief of the Tylium Queen.
